Today Martii and I are reflecting on the importance of connection with those we love. We were inspired by an Oprah episode that showed a family completely disconnected by the chaos of twitter, texting, blogging, email etc. What would happen to our friendships and family if those distractions didn’t exist? Would we spend more time eating our meals together? Would we be able to focus and really listen to those we love? Would we get to know what is really going on in our lives intimately?
So today, we are challenging ourselves to be present to those we love. WE commit to setting time aside to do the electronic work that needs to be done, but also to create healthy boundaries where email and texting has no place. So, after 6:00 pm today — No facebook, No texting and No emails until morning…wish us luck. Teena will be outside in the backyard playing hockey with her children and Martii will be preparing design layout for an upcoming mural!

Welcome to the Intentional Serenity Blog. We are thrilled to showcase the arrival of our NEWLY re-designed website. When Teena and I decided to update the existing site, I was given full creative rights to do the design and layout – which was SO exciting. This new site provides insightful information, easy navigation and, most importantly, the heart and soul of what our company believes in through video, pictures and words.
I look back on my journey with designing this website, realizing what a labor of love it has been. This creative process was like a breath of fresh air for me. Choosing the colors, how it should look, and what it should contain – all while being consciously aware of one important factor – the impact it will have on YOU, our visitors!
Although I left corporate America years ago for other creative endeavors, it dawned on me today how Grateful I am to have acquired this design knowledge and skill set. My message to you today is if you are struggling, whether it is due to job loss or career change, remember that your skills – the ones you know so well – will be with you always. Never discount them or feel they are insignificant. Your knowledge and skills are your gifts, and these gifts will lead you down many paths in ways you cannot imagine!
I encourage you to enjoy the journey through our NEW website, absorbing the beautiful gold, orange and red colors that speak of our soul. Keep dreaming . . . there is no limit to what you can do or, more importantly, what you already know! www.iamserene.com.
I would also like to thank and acknowledge Caroline Melberg for her assistance with the technical aspects of this website.
